Orange Glad – July 2014 Review (Plus Save 5$!)

Orange Glad is easily one of my most favorite subscriptions. Whenever people ask me what I’d recommend subscribing to that isn’t beauty related, I always recommend this box. It’s a mid-priced box curated with bakery sweets! It ships very fast too; this shipped yesterday from California and I had it in my hands here in West Virginia today. The longest I’ve ever had to wait on this box was two days, and that was because my post office held it for whatever reason. They very recently started giving out referral codes and using a code grants you 5$ off your new subscription, and you can find said code at the bottom of the post (no pressure though!)

Orange Glad – June 2014 Review

Today is a day of playing pretend. Let’s pretend I don’t have a mile high stack of paperwork on my desk that I’m neglecting. Let’s pretend that I am a perfectly responsible adult capable of choosing an adequate breakfast. Let’s pretend that adequate breakfast consisted of like 30 mini reese cups, then EVERYTHING IN THIS BOX.

Orange Glad – May 2014 The Missing Brownie

photobro

Yesterday I posted my review of my Orange Glad May 2014 box, only to have two Welsh Cakes and no brownie. I contacted Orange Glad and they sent me the brownie practically immediately, in it’s own Orange Glad branded box, wrapped in orange tissue paper. I got my non-brownie Orange Glad box on Wednesday, got the brownie box today. Now THAT’S how you do customer service ladies and gents.

Fine Sconehenge Baking Co. Ultimate Brownie – Gluten Free Version

Mother of God this is RICH. I normally only like brownies in my Hot Fudge Sundae’s, but since the ingredients had no mention of nuts whatsoever, I went for it. This little brownie is VERY heavy for being such a compact thing (that little package is 3.2oz). This has pretty basic ingredients.

Look at this list:

Pure Cane Sugar, Eggs, Dark Chocolate, Butter, Rice Flour, Cocoa Butter, Canola Oil, Sea Salt.

I think this could have benefited from some milk chocolate or something, it’s both bitter and sweet at the same time which I am painfully aware makes little sense. It definitely tastes like a brownie, which I’m sure is a win for the gluten free bunch. The only complaint I’d have is it has a unpleasant after taste because of the dark chocolate. If you’re curious about these guys, they make much more than brownies, and I’d personally love to try their chocolate chip scones.

If you’ve been considering Orange Glad, I highly recommend them too. Excellent customer service, which seems to be pretty rare for a company anymore.

Your Glam Rooms are Live! + other goodies of the day

Your Ipsy Glam Rooms are live as of this morning! Not too sure how I feel about this bag, I managed to get a lot of skin care stuff this time. The bag itself is really adorable though.

Your Birchboxes should have also updated or at least shipped. Some people got theirs VERY early this month. I’m getting a bunch of hair care, as if I didn’t have a ton of that laying around…

Orange Glad is shipping today and Lip Factory should be shipping this week. There’s a few days left to get in on Lip Factory ($22) if interested. They’re a makeup bag similar to Ipsy but it’s all full size actual makeup products. With Ipsy it varies, sometimes you’ll get all makeup items and sometimes you’ll get oddities. Ipsy goes by a style profile, sending out a variety of different bags. Lip Factory sends the same box per month, just with color variations. If you recently ordered the discounted Haute Look Beauty Bag, it’ll be shipping by next week.

Be aware that with both Ipsy (1-3 mo) and Birchbox there is a wait list. For $10 a month, it’s pretty worth it. Birchbox always takes 45 years to get to me and last month I got some poor soul in Massachusetts shipping info, so it’s hit and miss. You can get off Ipsy’s waitlist by advertising on facebook.
