Continuing the onslaught of gimmicky Princess themed boxes (forgive my age but Tinkerbell is a princess?) we have the Tinkerbell box; a box filled with glitter, glitter and more glitter. I happen to love glitter in both its makeup and craft form so this box was right up my alley.
This is yet another box of repeats albeit in different colors, which I guess is perfectly okay if you dig those products. If you do not dig those products you’re probably a little disappointed. Memebox likes their repeat brands, again not an issue if you’re a fan of that brand. They also apparently like their clavicles to be shimmery, which opens an entirely different discussion.
Memebox is a Korean mystery beauty box that focuses on different themes. They don’t always meet these themes. Hell, they damn well never meet the themes. The boxes usually contain either all Korean skincare, makeup or a combination of the two. Boxes sell out very quickly depending on theme, too. This box lingered for a bit because the makeup boxes aren’t nearly as popular as the skincare boxes (Korea is very well known for its amazing skincare products), and the description touted this as being a pseudo craft project. Each box comes with an info card detailing the items, their retail price, and usage. Since the items are sourced directly from Korea they may not always be in English.
TonyMoly Crystal Tear Glitter Eyeliner
Woof microfine silver glitter housed in a clear base. Put this on your waterline and you are due for some PAAAAAIN. It is very pretty though, all things considered.
Vivito Blues Shiny Primer
I like primer but this is very, very blue. It’s a light blue like maybe a mix between robin’s egg and baby, but it’s blue. I find it actually dulled my skintone a little, to the point I nearly looked sickly before it finally absorbed. Not too sure I’m a fan of this.
Mizon Oh! Shy Glow On Shimmer Light
I think mine may be a bit defective/broken/suffered a serious accident/an alcoholic/pregnant because it leaked water absolutely everywhere. The highlighter is also quite clumpy and pulling away from the sides of the glass bottle. This is a repeat item – a different shade was in the City Girl box. As a highlighter it’s pretty effective, full of shimmer and nicely blendable. My only issue is the chunkiness and the fact it throws water at me every time I touch it, almost like it’s spraying me in rebellion.
This I both like and hate; it’s a gorgeous color but damn near impossible to apply with a brush, it’s spotty, it creases like all hell, and you end up with enough glitter on your cheeks to be ready for a staring role in Cirque du Soliel. I has a disappoint. This is a repeat item from the Samantha collaboration box, I don’t particularly remember if its a different color or not.
Revecen Moisture Shine Lip Gloss
A couple things about this; I adore the color. It’s a beautifully subtle pink with high shine content and a sweet scent. The only slight issue I have with it is that it’s not very pigmented and it’s also quite sticky. Sticky in the same way a sticky bun is sticky. This item was in the Halloween Special box though in a completely different color (I think that was lipstick instead of gloss too).
Body-Net Clavi-S Cream
For your shimmering clavicle. The texture of this is just weird; it’s like a paste and a water cream combined into an odd goopy mess. I imagine it’s what an alien baby feels like. The color is a goldenrod with a fine microshimmer. It’s okay, but I don’t wear enough low cut clothing to warrant a shimmering clavicle. I wonder if that’s a new mating call, ‘THIS ONES CLAVICLE IS SHINIER THAN THAT ONE IT MUST BE PRIME.’
This box was up there on the interesting yet very odd scale for me. I like the items I got for the most part, there are things I’ll never use and things that are the wrong color and/or the wrong texture, or just odd. I like the box and would definitely buy it again, repeat items and all. It was definitely fun to go through which sometimes outweighs the usage and value (at least for me, anyway).
Beeju paid for this box. All opinions are my own. This post contains an affiliate link.
