Mission Cute – August 2014 Review

Mission Cute is a box of “Cute Stuff on a Mission.” Each box delivers a selection of carefully curated items and donates half of their net proceeds to a different non-profit organization selected by the community each month. Mission Cute very kindly sent us this box to review. ❤

We did a lengthy write-up on Mission Cute and it’s purpose in our July 2014 Review. To briefly recap that post: 50% of the net proceeds benefit a different non-profit each month, and you get a box of cute items to enjoy! I love that this box gives back so generously. It’s a very special box, and experience.

mcfirstlookThis month’s box benefited Ekubo Ministries, which according to their website:

“Ekubo Ministries is a Jesus-exalting, gospel-centered ministry working to reach the lost, disciple the saved, and socially develop different villages in Uganda, Africa.

Ekubo Ministries exists to love, care, and support those in need, empower, assist the underprivileged to achieve sustainable development, education, and autonomy.”

mcopenFirst look. I purposefully moved the linen pouch, it was covering the majority of the items.

mccardEach box comes with an info pamphlet, detailing the items, their retail cost, and the non-profit that Mission Cute is sponsoring this month. On the back are small cards you’re supposed to cut out and “spread the cute” with.

mcstopperCapaBunga! Wine Stopper
I don’t drink wine personally, so I never have any bottles around, but you can use it on just about any sort of cap (it’s a rubber type material), so it’s hanging out on my olive oil. I like that it’s reusable!

mcsoapProper Soap
This is a neat soap – it has a partnership with iDE to promote access to clean water. It’s a very smooth bar and it smells quite nice. You know how some soap bars (discs?) can be chalky and rough? This wasn’t. It maintained its silkiness after use and was very hydrating.

It’s very very soft and thick. Have you seen the painting “Girl with the Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer? This looks like that headband when on. It has a twist effect in the front but it’s sewn. It’s not too stretchy. I’m always in need of a good headband so I’m thankful to get this.

mcbird3Sparrow Key Ring
This is so cute!

mcbirdIt’s a keyring in a birdhouse and…

mcbied2Look! It comes with a mounting hole and tape! AND the bird doubles as a whistle! Basically you hook the bird on your keys, then put it in the birdhouse when done. I can’t wait to mount this. ❤ it!

mcbraceEkubo Ministries Bracelet
This was the special item in this months box. Not only does the donation help but the purchase of these bracelets help the Ministry as well. It’s handmade and elastic.

mccloseThe colors on these beads are just gorgeous. They’re not glass, they’re either acrylic or plastic, but the bracelet isn’t heavy at all. EDIT: They’re made of PAPER. Omgosh that makes them even more amazing! They sell a lot of really beautiful jewelry in their Etsy shop, and the proceeds directly benefit the ministry.

mcallMission Cute always sends out the best goodies. There’s so much I love about this box, the bracelet and the birdhouse are my favorites from this month but I will absolutely use everything. It’s practical and adorable, my two favorite things in a box! This box isn’t about the value of the items presented (the value is always above or right around the cost if you’re curious), it’s about giving back and helping the non-profit each month. Overall this is a wonderful box, and we’re honored to review it once again.

Beeju was sent this complimentary box to review. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
