Mission Cute – July 2014 Review

Mission Cute is truly a special box; It’s a box with an excellent message and purpose. Each box delivers a selection of carefully curated items and donates half of their net proceeds to a different non-profit organization selected by the community each month. It’s truly a box of “Cute Stuff on a Mission.” Mission Cute very kindly sent me this box to review, and I’m honored to do so ❤

Mission Cute
39$ Per Month – Free Shipping!

mcopen Mission Cute is not too new when it comes to the Subscription Box game, as they’ve been around since December, but they’re definitely leaving a lasting impression. I gotta tell ya, going through this box was something special.

We support small businesses.

Supporting small businesses is a big deal here at MissionCute.  We work hard to support small businesses and local artisans by including their goods in the monthly MissionCute boxes and promoting their story.  Each MissionCute box comes with at least 2 items made by small-but-mighty artisans and local businesses.  By joining MissionCute, you’ll receive a box of cute stuff that comes straight from small businesses and local artisans.

We partner with nonprofits.

Each month, we work with a very special nonprofit to help promote their mission, raise awareness, and donate 50% of our monthly net proceeds from the MissionCute boxes to their organization.  We encourage our MissionCute community to suggest nonprofits they love through our Community page.  You can learn more about the nonprofit organizations we have worked with on our blog, Facebook page and our monthly newsletter!

We do work.

For us, it’s not enough to just write a check every month.  It’s really important that we actually get out into the community and make a difference.  We regularly sponsor a service project in our community where we volunteer at a local organization that needs some extra hands.  We hope this inspires others to get out and make a difference in their community!

mcbookmccard2mccard3Each box comes with a booklet detailing the items, the non-profit organization they’re supporting that month, and a way to spread the Mission on the back, by giving out the cut out cards. Included in my box (I’m unsure if it’s for all boxes), was a handwritten note from their founder. She is a very, very sweet person with a good heart. For July, their non-profit was LoveGrows.Org and you can read more about why they selected that non-profit here.

msfirstlookEach box is packed with items, adorably patterned tissue paper, and paper squiggles! The items are very snug.

Bee Happy Print – BySamatha – 10$
Isn’t this cute? It’s a faux gold foil art print, with a simple message. It’s a perfect size for a frame intended to sit on a desk. This is a very simple design but I am loving the gradient effect. BySamantha has a lot of similar prints in her shop, I’m personally really digging the gold world map. This is already hanging on my wall but I’ll probably but it on my desk at work. Probably my favorite item in the box; I always love art prints! Especially cute ones!

You are Beautiful Sticker – Shawna Armstrong – 3$
There are so many people I know that could use this sticker. Shawna is a graphic designer (hello brethren!) with a large variety of beautiful pieces. This is a large, lovely sticker. I love the message too – sometimes we just need reminded that we’re beautiful in our own way.

Love Monogram Necklace – 22$
This is an item exclusive to Mission Cute – a necklace with an embellished love pendant. The pendant is pretty large and I found the chain to be a tad bit too small (nothing an extender won’t fix!), but I love the little details of this. It’s a very well made necklace and it’s not weighty at all. It’s a nice statement piece for sure! I think what I like best about this necklace is you can wear it with a variety of styles. It’s appropriate for work or casual.

Anchor Canvas Tote – Who Doesn’t Want That – 6$
This is a very large canvas bag that’s lightweight, perhaps a bit sheer, yet perfectly sturdy. I was really surprised by the sheer size of this bag, the box itself didn’t make it look very big but nope, it’s pretty substantial. Who doesn’t love nautical prints? This would be an excellent beach tote! The material feels like sort of like a burlap sack. It would also be cute framed and hung in a nautical themed bathroom (totally not the purpose of it but the design works!)

Overall this is an excellent box. This box simply isn’t about value – it’s about the curation, and the mission. I highly recommend this box, it’s a really wonderful cause and you’ll feel great knowing you’re supporting such wonderful non-profits and people. 😀

If interested, Mission Cute is 39$ per month, and you can save more by committing to a longer subscription. You have until the 9th to sign up for August’s box.

Beeju was sent this complimentary box for review purposes only. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
