Memebox – Whole Grain Review

Memebox (pronounced mi-mi-box) is not a subscription box, but instead is a Korean beauty box specializing in one time boxes. There are several different types to Memeboxes, which you can read more about by clicking here and checking out our previous Memebox review. Memebox very kindly sent us the Whole Grain Superbox (recently restocked!) for review. ❤

So, what is Memebox?

Memebox is currently the #1 beauty box provider in Korea, and arrived here in the US and other countries just recently! We strive to bring you only the most trusted, best-loved Korean beauty products at everyday prices. Korean cosmetics are renowned for their high quality and efficacy, and we’re really excited to bring this to you! Memebox carries 4 main types of beauty boxes: Memebox, Memebox Special Editions, Superbox and Luckybox. In addition to the box series, we also carry full-size, Korean beauty products in our Memeshop.

Each Memebox ships via DHL and can take up to 2 weeks to arrive, though it’s typically much less than that. They also have express shipping options, which arrive in around 2-3 days. Memebox defines the Whole Grain Box as: “Be au naturale with our Whole Grain Box! Whole grains are the ultimate gift from Mother Nature because it provides all around beauty benefits from head to toe. Gentle enough for most sensitive types of skin, yet powerful enough to buff away dead skin cells and encourage surface cell turnover, whole grains will leave the skin feeling soft, smooth, and radiant. Rich in vitamins A and E, whole grains are full of antioxidants that promote cell respiration and also stimulate the production of anti-inflammatory compounds, slowing down the aging process.”

This box came packed with 7 different items (8 Total, 2 Masks) all designed for skin care.

Each box also comes with an info card, front and back, that details each item and translates it. Most of the time the items title on the bottle is in English, however the directions and ingredients are usually in Korean. The info card serves to detail each item and its use. This box had some heft to it.

Grinif Nature Oatmeal Scrub Bar – 9$
This all natural bar is handmade, and meant to be used as a face scrub. You lather it and apply it to your wet face, then rinse with cold water. It’s purpose is to cleanse and reduce large pores. I just love the smell, it almost smells like an oatmeal cake. There are several different ingredients to this bar, and it’s quite heavy, but it lathers and cleanses beautifully.

memeboxherbHerbclinic Rice Bran Powder – 8$
This is a finely milled green powder, which you’re supposed to mix with oatmeal, black bean or brown rice and milk until it becomes thickened, then apply it as a mask. When used correctly it’s supposed to offer intense hydration and rejuvenate tired skin.

memeboxserumPurebess Galactomyces 100% – 15$
I have no idea what Galactomyces, except that they’re bottled magic. This is a very watery serum type product that’s supposed to be pat into the skin for moisture, unclog pores and reduce fine lines. I don’t have fine lines yet but this little bottle of witchcraft instantly helped my chronic dry skin. This is a very generous bottle too, it’ll last many applications.

Purebess Galactomyces 80 Eye Cream 50ml – 20$
This is the same thing as above, but made into an eye cream. It’s meant to lock in moisture, unclog pores and reduce fine lines, as the previous product. The info card says you can use this anywhere you see fine lines on your face, though it’s technically meant to be an eye cream. It works just as well as the previous product, it’s just more of a cream instead of a watery texture.

Purederm Anti-Stress Heat Therapy Mask Oatmeal – 12$
This is a pre-mixed mask application that gently heats while exfoliating, moisturizing, and clearing clogged pores. The instructions say to leave it on your face and neck for 15-20 minutes before rinsing. It does get warm; it’s made of all natural ingredients. It does indeed leave skin feeling silky smooth. It made my face red at first but that quickly dissipated. I actually really like this mask, it’s different than any other mask I’ve tried.

Purederm Rice Bran Collagen Mask – 5$ x2
It’s a 100% natural pulp mask, used to brighten and smooth dull complexions. You wear it for 15-20 minutes before removing and rinsing.

Purederm Daily Moisturizing Hand Mask Oatmeal – 7$
This is a mask specifically for your hands, and is meant to offer intense hydration. You wear it like a glove for 20-30 minutes.

Purederm Invigorating Foot Scrub Walnut – 4$
This is a foot scrub made from walnut shells and apricot seeds, and it’s purpose is to clear off dear skin cells and penetrate the skin to exfoliate. This actually make feet feel amazingly soft, even after one application. It’s not a mask like the other two, it’s a paste.

The total value of this box is 85$, and it comes with some of the most luxurious and natural skin care products you can find. We loved this box! Memebox often releases new boxes and has contests quite often which you can keep up with on their facebook. If interested, you can get this very box today, as it was recently restocked, and it ships to 45 different countries. The box itself is 29.99$ with standard shipping, and you can click here to get it. Additionally, use code LT5P4S to get 5$ off any order!

  8. Oh, wow! This is way different than I thought it would be. They need to stop making everything so darn tempting!

  9. i just bought luckybox #9, dang it! okay, i am not buying anymore for a while! lol

  10. wow, i am so jealous! i would have adored this box! i just ordered my first box this week (the Sweets fragrance box), and i am so excited to get it. i have a feeling i’m going to get hooked on these. this Whole Grain box looks awesome! i would have used everything!

    • Eeeeee I ordered that one too! I’ve got 4 that I bought coming in August. These Memeboxes are SUPER addicting once you get started because the coupons can make them so cheap! Ahh! The Whole Grain box was pretty great 😀

      • have you liked any of the luckyboxes? i am thinking of ordering luckybox #9, but i can’t get $15 off another box again, and without receiving my first one, i’m not sure if i should order a 2nd?? did you like any of the luckyboxes? this is my first time trying asian beauty products.

        • I’ve never tried the Lucky Boxes, I always went for the boxes where I sorta knew what I was getting, like cosmetics. 😛 I love asian beauty products, they’re such high quality!

I hate that trymemebox expired, that was such an excellent coupon. :/ At least there will always be new Lucky Boxes in case you decide to pass on this one, the wait on shipping is almost torture!

          • agreed!! the site was hard to navigate and understand at first, but now i get it. totally different concept than most boxes, but i kind of like it 🙂

          • It was hard for me too because half of the offerings were sold out and it easily became frustrating lol I like that it’s a one time theme cause if it was a subscription I think my wallet would beg for mercy

          • yeah, a LOT of them are sold out… there were only a handful for me to choose from. but that’s okay, because i probably would have ordered 10 if they were available!! MUST STOP ORDERING!! my husband is going to kill me 🙂

          • Hah! I woulda done the same. It’s like every time a new one comes out I instantly make grabby hands at it. There’s a bunch of the sold out ones I would have loved to have gotten too but maybe it’s a good thing those never got restocked
